Landscape & Gardens

Set within a wooded 2.14 acre property, this landscape explores the balance between structure and softness—where geometry provides order and planting brings it to life.

The design is organized as a series of connected outdoor rooms, each grounded in a clear architectural language. A diamond-patterned field of stone and brick is set into lawn, establishing a strong visual framework that shifts subtly with movement and light. The pattern introduces rhythm and precision, while turf joints and surrounding plantings soften edges, allowing it to feel both tailored and relaxed.

This geometry extends into more defined spaces, including a trellis-enclosed garden that creates a sense of intimacy and enclosure. Low walls, hedging, and carefully aligned paths guide circulation, allowing the landscape to unfold gradually from one space to the next. Each area is distinct, yet part of a cohesive whole.

Beyond the structured garden, the landscape opens into a looser, meadow-like edge where ornamental grasses and perennials transition the property into the surrounding woodland. This contrast—between formal geometry and naturalistic planting—establishes a quiet tension that gives the landscape its unique character.

A restrained palette of stone, brick, gravel, and lawn reinforces the clarity of the design, while subtle grading and technical precision ensure it performs seamlessly over time.

The result is a landscape that feels both composed and lived-in—an environment shaped by pattern and plane, but ultimately defined by how it is experienced day to day.
